Lassen Volcanic National Park Campout.

Troop 722 and 2722 recently returned from their annual campout at Lassen Volcanic National Park, a cherished tradition for both groups. This national park is a geological wonder, containing all four types of volcanoes: shield, composite, cinder cone, and plug dome. The park is home to Lassen Peak, one of the largest plug dome volcanoes in the world. Visitors can explore hydrothermal features such as fumaroles, bubbling mud pots, and steaming vents. Over 150 miles of hiking trails wind through the park's diverse ecosystems, from dense forests to alpine meadows. The park's beautiful sites and stunning landscapes provide the perfect backdrop for creating wonderful memories and fostering a love for the outdoors. The park also boasts a wide variety of wildlife, including black bears, mule deer, and a multitude of bird species. This was a great memory for both of the troops.
